Memory/Sight Words

Memory/Sight words are words we find in every sentence we read. Students must know these words to be able to read a sentence. Students should memorize these words, NOT sound them out. Please practice these words every day, both reading them and spelling them.

There are two activities today: (1) "This or That" Game and (2) "Snakes and Ladders" Fitness Game
 (1) https://drive.google.com/open?id=117fuFNBkqnrLwjTbG1K4ab51ScCyocR_eu1DbDr0doU

 (2) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LldHnVCttp9ppImWYA7uUMV0RoAmuW-4 (There are two boards in this Google Doc - they are the same, you only need one to play)

Student Instructions:
(1) K-4: "This or That"
You can do this activity by yourself or with a family member - Have Fun! Start with the first line and choose which one you like better. Once chosen, do the activity written next to the item. For example, line one is Apple or Banana. I like apples better so I would choose Apple. I would then do 5 jumping jacks as that is the exercise next to the Apple picture. Please go through each line on both pages
(2) "Snakes and Ladders" Fitness Game
Navigate your piece from start to finish, avoid the snakes, and take shortcuts by going up the ladders. This can be played alone or with multiple people. You will need: Snakes and Ladders board (attached) - 1 Dice - Playing piece (coin, button) if printed out. If not, use the pencils under the activity board to mark your spot. Change colors for each person playing. Use the eraser each time you move from one spot to another. The players will move their pieces from left to right, starting at 1, following the numbers on the board, then the next row from right to left and repeat. If a player rolls a 4, then the player would move their piece four places. Each space has an activity to complete, you must complete the activity before your next turn.
When a player lands on top of a snake, their playing piece will slide down to the bottom of the snake. If you land on the bottom of a snake the player will remain in the same spot until their next turn. When a player lands at the base of a ladder, it immediately climbs to the top of the ladder. If you land at the top of a ladder the player will stay there until the next turn. The player does not move to the bottom of the ladder. The first player that reaches the highest space on the board, 33, wins the game. To win the player will need to roll the exact number to get you to the last space. If the player rolls a higher number than needed to land exactly on 33, their piece does not move and you will need to complete the activity you are on again. You will remain in this spot until your next turn, when you can roll again.

Assignment Questions:
(1) "This or That"
Did you play alone or with another family member?
Please tell me 4 of the choices you made.
1.

3.
4 .
Did you create your own at the end? If so, what was your "This or That?"

(2) "Snakes and Ladders" Fitness Game
